Due to the nature of our Makerspace’s environment (and the extra precaution required), access is restricted to University Students, Staff and Adult community members.

The Curtin Library Makerspace has been designed for adults and is not set up to accommodate children. Our facility is a place where university students and staff are designing, prototyping and fabricating projects, and as such, we need to provide an environment conducive to that. Additionally, our users need to handle tools and equipment and view resources, which might not contribute to a child-friendly environment.

We are able to accommodate school groups via pre-arranged appointments, subject to availability. Other requests may be considered outside of the Semester period and should be made via makerspace@curtin.edu.auExplore Curtin also offers a range of free activities suitable for children.

*It should be noted that not all Library staff have Working with Children Checks, as they have been hired to work with adults.
